Project Details
Hill Brothers Chemical Company has operated in the Western United States for more than 100 years. As a producer of numerous chemicals, including ammonia, calcium chloride, magnesium hydroxide, and chlorine bleach, among others, the operability and functionality of their pipelines is of the utmost importance both for health and safety and for quality control.
In 2018, they turned to Dragon Jacket Insulation for assistance in insulating a 1.5-inch schedule 80 black iron pipe used to transport chlorine gas at one of their facilities in Utah. The company needed a product that would provide solar protection, mitigate the threat of CUI, and be able to withstand a harsh chemical environment over time. The insulation also needed to be durable enough to withstand the frequent removal and reinstallation needed for regular pipeline inspections.
“The professional look, ease of removal, and reinstallation required for line inspections are what I liked. Additionally, the CUI problem we had will be solved. The product installation was easy, the crew liked it, and it looks great.” –Chuck Hill, Operations Manager for Hill Brothers Chemical Co.
